Cynthia's professional career started with her move to New York in order to develop into an fashion designer. Following signing a contract that lasted for several years, Cynthia managed to make a splash as cover girl of Essence Magazine. Cynthia's cover of Essence was not only one of their best cover designs, but it was Susan Taylor's favorite. Cynthia's second cover was booked soon after and set the tone for a successful career.
